Resumen

Uno de los grandes retos, si no el mayor reto, al que se está enfrentando la Humanidad es el actual Cambio Global que estamos sufriendo de forma visible desde hace, al menos unos 20 años. Los sucesivos informes que lleva emitiendo el Grupo Intergubernamental de Expertos sobre el Cambio Climático (IPCC, sus siglas en inglés) desde 1990 detallando los impactos y consecuencias son cada vez más contundentes y demoledores. ¿Y en este escenario como encajan las Geociencias? ¿Cuál es el papel que juegan estas ciencias? Las contribuciones de las Geociencias en la caracterización del Cambio Global son múltiples y juegan un papel fundamental en la definición y comprensión de este gran reto. En la charla se dará una visión de estas contribuciones.
