Quantitative microstructural analysis of rocks and geomaterials Course

The course is free, will be taught in English and is open to PhD students, MSc students, postdocs, and academic and technical staff. The course is developed within the framework of the PhD programme in Earth Sciences of the University of Barcelona.

The course programme is as follows:

  • 10:00-13:00 – Quantitative microstructural analysis of rocks and geomaterials: a contribution toward the interoperable digital transition of multiscale geological datasets
  • 13:00-14:00 – Lunch break (lunch not included)
  • 14:00-16:00 – Multiscale structural investigations of the Mediterranean microplates geodynamics: vorticity analysis of crustal-scale mylonitic rocks from the late Paleozoic to the Oligocene
