La veritat sobre l’ “Antropocè”

Abstract

L’any 1873, Antonio Stoppani va proposar que havíem entrat en una nova era que va anomenar «Antropozoica», caracteritzada per la influència de les activitats humanes sobre la Terra i la seva petjada en el registre geològic. Però no va tenir èxit i van haver de passar més de 140 anys perquè això és consolidés en una proposta ferma, aquest cop no com una era sinó com una època: l’«Antropocè». Actualment, aquest terme està en procés de ser aprovat (o no) com a època formal de l’escala de temps geològic en el si de la Comissió Estratigràfica Internacional. Malgrat això, és un terme d’ús molt freqüent tant en l’àmbit científic com en moltes altres activitats acadèmiques i socials. La conferència vol presentar el desenvolupament històric de la idea, la situació actual pel que fa al procés de la seva formalització i les possibles implicacions i conseqüències que la seva aprovació tindria per a l’escala de temps geològic.

GEO3BCN-CSIC reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy in order to adapt it to the latest legislations, jurisprudences or interpretations made by the Spanish Data Protection Agency.
