Research Interests
My current line of research focuses in the understanding of potential geohazards such as earthquakes and gas hydrates, considering data-driven configurations of the lithosphere. My workflow includes the application of innovative techniques such as the forward modelling of 3D density and structural models using satellite vertical gravity gradients and gravity anomalies. I’m also interested in the application of these realistic lithospheric-scale models in the calculation of the three-dimensional thermal field within the different geological units. The final goal is to achieve geologically-consistent and physically-meaningful rheological models that can help to unveil the relationship between background seismicity, deformation patterns, lithospheric heterogeneities and the present-day configuration of the uppermost solid Earth.
