Geociencias Barcelona (GEO3BCN-CSIC) es una de las numerosas instituciones de investigación que participan en la edición de este año de la ‘Noche Europea de los Investigadores’ que se celebrará el próximo viernes 24 de septiembre y cuyo lema este año es ‘La investigación por el Cambio’.

Santiago Giralt, Dario Pedrazzi sustituyendo a Joan Martí, Mario Benavente y Adelina Geyer, son los cuatro investigadores del centro que participan este año ofreciendo diferentes charlas en este evento de divulgación que se celebra de forma simultánea en más de 400 ciudades de 30 países europeos.

El próximo 21 de septiembre en el Auditori Barradas de l’Hospitalet de Llobregat, los investigadores Santiago Giralt y Dario Pedrazzi (que substituye a Joan Martí) ofrecerán sendas conferencias sobre la investigación polar y vulcanológica. Sus intervenciones se enmarcan en la sesión correspondiente al primer bloque de las ‘Conferencias Científicas en el Auditori Barradas’.

Mario Benavente será uno de los participantes de la actividad " Recerca en un món en canvi" que tendrá lugar en la Residencia de Investigadores el 22 de septiembre y que está organizada de forma conjunta por diferentes centros del CSIC de Catalunya. Se trata de una actividad inspirada en el formato  “Science Slam” y en la que se quiere fomentar la interacción con el público, que podrá elegir la mejor microcharla y participar en un trivial final con preguntas concretas sobre cada una de las intervenciones. Benavente abordará en su microcharla el papel de la paleoclimatología en la investigación y comprensión del cambio climático.

Y por último, el próximo10 de noviembre  Adelina Geyer tiene previsto visitar el Instituto Jaume Balmes de Barcelona para ofrecer una charla sobre volcanes antárticos a su alumnado. Esta actividad forma parte de los actos programados dentro del "Matí de la Recerca",  un evento ligado a la ‘Noche Europea de los Investigadores’ diseñada para los centros educativos.

La ‘Noche Europea de los Investigadores’ es una iniciativa dedicada a la divulgación de la ciencia que pretende acercar a los investigadores al público general y dar a conocer la investigación y la innovación de una forma amena y participativa. Con el impulso de la Comisión Europea, la noche está organizada por diferentes instituciones académicas y de investigación y propone un amplio programa de actividades que se desarrollan en Catalunya en cada uno de los cinco nodos: Barcelona, Tarragona, Lleida, Girona y Catalunya central.

En el caso de Barcelona, coordinado por el Instituto de Salud Global de Barcelona (ISGlobal) y la Asociació Catalana de Comunicació Científica (ACCC), las actividades presenciales se llevarán a cabo entre el 21 y el 23 de Septiembre.

A diferencia de la edición del año pasado en la que, a causa de las restricciones impuestas por la pandemia, todas las actividades se realizaron de forma online, este año se recupera la presencialidad, y se ha diseñado un programa mixto. Las charlas online se harán públicas a través del canal YouTube de la Nit de la Recerca el mismo día 24 de septiembre.

El programa de esta edición incluye charlas, microcharlas, mesas redondas y talleres que se desarrollarán, en el caso del nodo barcelonés, en diferentes sedes: la Casa Golferichs, el Cosmocaixa, el centro cívico Joan Olíver ‘Pere Quart’, la Villa Urània, los Jardines Ferrán Soldevila (Edificio Histórico de la UB) y el Auditori Barradas (L'Hospitalet de Llobregat).

La inteligencia artificial, la sostenibilidad energética, los nuevos materiales, la geología o el cambio climático son, entre muchos otros, algunos de los temas sobre los que centrarán las más de 200 actividades propuestas en la edición de este año.
